Role of Reviewers

The peer review process is the foundation of academic publishing, ensuring that only high-quality, original, and impactful research in the fields of Biodiversity Reports, An International Journal is published.

These guidelines are designed to support reviewers in conducting fair, constructive, and timely evaluations that uphold the journal’s commitment to integrity, quality, and scholarly excellence.

Evaluation Criteria

When reviewing a manuscript, reviewers should assess the following aspects:

Originality & Contribution: Does the paper offer new insights, interpretations, or theoretical perspectives in its area (e.g., sociology, psychology, history, literature, or philosophy)?

Relevance: Is the study aligned with the journal’s scope—focusing on topics that enhance understanding of human society, culture, and behavior?

Methodology & Theoretical Framework: Are the research methods and conceptual frameworks sound, appropriate, and clearly explained?

Argumentation & Analysis: Are arguments logical, coherent, and supported by adequate evidence or references?

Clarity & Organization: Is the manuscript well-structured, clearly written, and logically presented?

References & Scholarship: Are relevant studies, historical sources, or theoretical works adequately cited?

Ethical Standards: Has the author followed ethical guidelines in research involving human participants, interviews, or archival materials?

Review Process

Invitation: Reviewers receive an invitation email containing the manuscript title and abstract.

Acceptance or Decline: Reviewers should confirm their expertise and availability before accepting the review.

Confidential Review: All manuscripts must be treated as strictly confidential and should not be shared or discussed with others.

Minor revision

Major revision

Reject

Feedback Submission: Reviewers are requested to provide detailed, respectful, and constructive comments for the authors, along with confidential notes to the editors when necessary.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, unbiased, and confidential assessments of submitted manuscripts.
  • Evaluate the originality, academic rigor, and contribution of the research to its respective discipline.
  • Offer clear, constructive, and respectful feedback to help authors improve their manuscripts.
  • Identify potential issues such as plagiarism, duplicate publication, data falsification, or ethical concerns.
  • Disclose any conflicts of interest that may affect their objectivity or impartiality.
  • Complete reviews within the agreed timeline to ensure timely editorial decisions and publication.

Confidentiality & Ethics

Manuscripts must remain confidential and should not be used for personal research, citation, or advantage.

Reviewers must remain impartial and avoid discrimination based on gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, or academic background.

If a reviewer feels unqualified or unable to provide an objective assessment, they should immediately inform the editorial office.

Any suspected misconduct, including plagiarism or data manipulation, must be reported to the Editor-in-Chief or managing editor.

How to Submit a Review

Reviewers can submit their reviews by:

Logging in to the journal’s online submission and review system.

Accessing the assigned manuscript under “Pending Reviews.”

Providing detailed comments, improvement suggestions, and recommendations through the online review interface.
